Back the Blues and Bridge the Gap

Back the Blue 3v3 Basketball Tournament

Backing the Blue is extremely important to Mercy Foundation because local law enforcement agencies play a vital role in the foundation’s outreach. The first Back the Blues Basketball Tournament took place in 2019. Mercy Foundation worked with All Stars are Bright Youth Sports Basketball & Tutoring to host a fun family-friendly community event.

After 2020’s tournament had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, the team at Mercy Foundation vowed to make the 2021 event greater than the past events. In 2021, the 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament featured law enforcement teams from across Central Florida. The games were kicked off by a fun-filled game featuring the Court Kingz Basketball Players.

We strive to honor the lives of local fallenjnapier@mercyfoundationusa.org officers while building better relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Bridge the Gap

Bridge the Gap is an annual event with different law enforcement agencies on the county, city, state, and federal level, congressmen, educators, community members, health care providers, and interfaith leaders. The focus is to establish a communication bridge between different communities and cultures and address any issues or areas of concern. This event helps all the organizations involved figure out how to best coordinate assistance to those who need it. Bridge the Gap is the best way for Mercy Foundation to make contacts within the community, and beyond, to help them with the resources and information they need.
